"Splogs, and other Inevitabilities"
Whenever mankind achieves something monumental, in this case, the internet,
another of his species simply MUST come along and RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO it up.

Anyone else out there with tales of the future cliche' of man's inability NOT to exploit good things?

You know, I've always had this idea that could make banners, spyware and all that other crap VERY illigal and possibly a thing of the past... All digital space and data storage should be concidered private property. Every bit of data is like a little square inch of land. Anything coming onto your new found property without your permission is TRESPASSING. So, if some scumbag makes some keyloggers to make more "effciant ads," he can get his ass arrested for invading private property. It's a very simple law, I think, and technicaly, your computer IS property, so why not make what's IN the computer property?

That would work except that we have no private property rights anymore (speaking only of USA here). For years governments have been making rules about what you can do with your OWN land/property. Saying you can only use a certain percentage to "preserve the environment" or what you can or can't put on it. And now apparently they can confiscate it at will and turn it over to private businesses for them to develop. God bless America.

Well, shit, if I'm making rules why not make more? No big suit can poke his ass into your property, and if you are armed, you may fire at will on anyone who tries to pull any crap. At least we got the right to bear arms (And oh how I so exercize my civil rights).

The internet is kind of like the Wild West, there's only so much the law can do. As a result people can be as unpleasant as they want and tend to get away with it.
The only difference is people respawn when there are gunfights and there's free porn.

I hate splogs, and sometimes blogs. OK I am posting this in Off Topic aka "inanity city" but when someone writes an article about how the internet is going to grind to a halt under the weight of all these blogs first it's amusing then it's very scary

Then you would be called a Terrorist, or David Koresh, and shot in the head, and it would be blamed on bloggers or Bin Laden.

Not if it's a law, and they can't shoot you if you shoot them first ^.~

Most people know what the law is, a set of guidelines for those in charge to sidestep when it suits them. Those that believe the law protects their inalienable rights are destined to die with a very strange look of disbelief on their faces...
Now back to to motherfudgin topic!
